Lowkey Valentine's Day Plans For You and Your S/O.

The day of love is looming and we know that Valentine's Day can feel like a competition over who's being spoilt the most (Instagram stories, we're looking at you). The thing is, we think that being OTT on Valentine's isn't really that necessary. If that's your thing, then go for it. But if you're looking for a more low key, low cost way to spend your Feb 14th this year, we're here to give you some ideas.

Whether you're looking for a low key night out, or you're just thinking of staying in this year, we're here with some simple but sweet ways to show your love this year. If you're not in a relationship, don't fear - why don't you adapt these plans with one of your single gals instead? Whatever you get up, just make sure you're spreading the love this year.

Picnic for 2

If you can't be bothered to rustle up a full home cooked meal, why not opt for some of your fave picky bits and whip up an at-home picnic? Lay down the picnic rug, stick on your fave film/series and snack away at some of your fave foodie bits. It's low maintenance, low stress and gives you less cooking time and more time for other things...

Walk on the wild side

If you're lucky enough to have the day off, why not choose your favourite local beauty spot and take a walk? Appreciating nature together makes for the perfect date and it's a great idea if you're on a budget, too. The great thing about this is you can go as adventurous as you like - whether you fancy digging out the hiking boots or you just want a beachside stroll, you can do what suits you.

Great British Bake Off

If you like activity based dates, we'd recommend a V day themed bake off. Choose your favourite sweet treats and compete against each other to make the best delights - you'll have endless fun together, trust us. Plus, if there's any left over squirty cream or chocolate sauce, they may always come in handy later on in the evening...

Mix it up.

If you don't fancy heading out to the jam packed bars this Valentine's Day, we'd suggest going freestyle with your own at home cocktail making master class. Plan a signature cocktail each and show off your mixologist skills, all with the added fun of getting a liiiiiittle bit tipsy. You're guaranteed to have plenty of booze left over, so things may get a little bit messy into the night...

Play the game.

If you're particularly competitive, a games evening is the perfect way to spend your date night. Grab some of your fave board/card games, some tasty snacks and get winning! Once the regular games are finished, there's no reason why you can't take the playing to the bedroom either.
