How To Reduce Plastic In Your Skincare Routine.

When it comes to your skincare routine, there is one common denominator when it comes to most products - plastic. Whether it's a tub or a tube, it's very difficult to escape the toxic stuff when it comes to the packaging of your fave skincare products and tools.

This Plastic Free July, we are helping our community to become less reliant on plastic in their body and hair care routines. This week we are giving you 20% off all of our plastic free skincare range using code: PFSKINCARE20, plus we are here to talk you through ways you can reduce plastic in YOUR skincare routine. Buckle up and get ready for a plastic free ride...

Ditch the disposables

Have you ever considered how many disposable items are included in your skincare routine? Whether it's cotton pads that come wrapped in plastic, or makeup wipes, there is a whole load of plastic waste involved in removing your makeup and cleansing your skin. One way you can cut back is by investing in a durable item that can be reused repeatedly, like a make up remover cloth. We'd recommend our Microfibre Make Up Remover Eco Cloth - just add water and a small amount of your favourite cleanser and you're ready to rinse the day (or night) away.

Scrub it down the right way

Whilst we all love smoothing our body down with an exfoliating scrub, it can be difficult to avoid plastic tubes and tubs. With most body scrubs on the market coming in plastic packaging, we decided to ditch the toxic stuff when creating our skincare line. That's why both our Coffee and Vanilla Pod and Strawberry Pink Himalayan Salt Body Scrubs come in amber glass jars with aluminium tin lids. That's because we don't believe in compromising the planet, when it comes to delivering premium skincare. Get ready for the scrub of your life.

Swap your bottled body lotion for a plastic free body butter

Much like body scrubs, there are a whole host of body moisturisers out there - but most of them are caked in plastic. Considering the fact that plastic can take over a 1000 years to decompose, those plastic tubes and tubs can have a major environmental impact once you've finished rubbing yourself down. If you're looking for a plastic free swap, make sure to grab our Whipped Vanilla Cocoa Body Butter. Not only is it 100% plastic free, it is also created with 3 naturally hydrating oils and is completely cruelty free and vegan friendly. What's not to love?

Ditch the micro plastics

Whilst many of us are aware of the major plastic packaging issues, the micro plastics problem can sometimes slip under the radar. Micro plastics are defined as 'extremely small pieces of plastic debris in the environment resulting from the disposal and breakdown of consumer products and industrial waste.' Did you know that 9 in 10 beauty products from leading brands contain micro plastics? All of our skincare products are completely free from micro plastics (and SLS, Paraben + Phthalates), meaning you can rid your skincare routine from ALL types of plastic.

Choose a plastic free face mask

Whether it's sheet masks or clay masks packaged in plastic tubes, getting your weekly skincare treatment to help your face AND the planet is no easy task. If you're looking to eliminate plastic from your facial routine, then look no further - both of our face masks are completely plastic free. Choose between our Whipped Green Clay Mask and our Anti Blemish + Scar Repair Strawberry Enzyme Peel Mask - both are packaged in amber glass jars with aluminium lids, meaning you don't have to add to the plastic problem when it comes to your self care routine.
